Loop 1604 is the new sushi strip

A few doors down the same frontage road, Trapper's Sushi Co. - Culebra matches the 4.9 from 688 reviews and is one of the only rooms in that part of town priced in the upper tier. Yoshiya Umami Beef Bowl on the Far West Side rounds out the corridor at 4.9 from 474 reviews.

Alamo Heights and the old north side
Alamo Heights holds 8 verified listings, the second-largest cluster in the city, and it is a different kind of sushi neighborhood: older, tighter, closer to downtown, with rooms that have been feeding the same families for a long time. The airport vicinity, Far North Central and the Far West Side add 7 each, and Stone Oak 6, so the whole north-central spine from Alamo Heights up to 1604 is where most of the city's sushi actually is. Downtown itself has only 2 listings. For a city that sells itself on the River Walk, sushi is a neighborhood meal here, not a tourist one.
The highest weighted rating in the entire city belongs to a small room, not a famous one. Miyabi Asian Fusion on Vance Jackson holds a perfect 5.0 across 229 reviews.
